My father was born and lived at 428 North Adams Street, Carthage Illinois, USA, in the early 1920s. He served as a Sargent in the United States Army Air Force, based at Prestwick and Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland during the Second World War, from 1942 to 1945. Would anyone have any further details of his family before or after the War?

The Franks you mention are my ancestors as well. The parents of George Franks (b. 1810) were George Franks (b.1787, d.1861) and Ann Woods (b.1783, d.1861). George Sr's parents were Thomas Franks (b.1752, d.1832) and Elizabeth Cryer (b.1764, d.1844). All lived in Chapel Allerton in Leeds. That's as far back as I have been able to ascertain.

Searching for ancestors of Thomas Franks, born in Chapel Allerton in 1882. His parents were Thomas Franks and Emma Grayson Franks. Thomas was the only child of John Franks of Chapel Allerton and Ann Sharow Holmes of Boston Spa. The Franks family seems to have been associated with dairy farming. I believe that the parents of John (chr. April 1832) were George Franks and Isabella Sanderson. I would appreciate any information you may have on these individuals, if any. Thanks very much, in advance.

Great site, I'm wondering where I fit in or if I do in this lineage. Thanks for all your research.

Hello Albert, It is great to find that you are on the internet. I have come to a stop with my research as I cannot find any more information about CHRISTOPHER FRANKE WHO DIED 1582. I hope that you and your family are well. Barbara

I have a lot of Franks listed on my site. My earliest ancestor was Robert Franks, Sr. listed as born in Virginia, USA in 1655. Do you know if any of your ancestors migrated to America around the time of your first Robert Franks?

I came across your site whilst surfing and was intrigued by your armorial as it include a geologist hammer. How did that come about? I am a geologist. My barnch of teh Franks now situated in Leeds although I am in Hong Kong originally came from Hardington and Froome Somerset areas about 1815 althoughs as farm ahnds although the Taugnton records have many more similar names including Franke which stretch back before that
